Baker's Joy

Amazon got it here in a flash. We've got our own little fleet of Prime trucks now and everything shows up pretty much the next day. I have no idea how they do it.

I followed a recipe I found on the Nordic Ware website. It was for a chocolate orange cake.

The recipe called for a blood orange but this is all I had.

The spray worked like a charm. It came out without a hitch. Not a crumb was left behind.

I didn't have much on hand to use as a glaze so I just heated up a can of chocolate frosting and poured it over the top. The recipe was meh....but the cake looked amazing. Any recipe ideas for a decent bundt out there? I need some direction.

  4. The only cake I ever had out of a bundt was Angel Food Cake. It was my Dad's favourite - so Mom made him one every year for his birthday. I'm pretty sure it was from a Betty Crocker box though - Mom can make cakes from scratch, but she rarely did. Carrot Cake is the only one she ever did that I recall
I don't know if you want to put it in a Bundt, but here's her recipe - it's amazing.
    Carrot cake
     1 cp sugar
     1 cp veg oil
     4 eggs
     1 cp flour
 1 cp whole wheat flour
     1 ½ tsp soda
     1 tsp salt
     2 tsp cinnamon
     2 cp grated carrot
     1 ½ cup grated/chopped apple
     1 cp raisins
 1 small can pineapple (drained)
     ½ cp chopped pecans
Blend sugar, oil and egg. Add dry ingredients and mix. Add carrot, apple, pineapple, raisins and nuts and blend.
    Bake at 350 35-40 min

She always made creamcheese frosting for it.

  5. I have several wonderful recipes the one I liked the best was Marta Stewarts Apple Bundt cakehttps://www.epicurious.com/recipes/member/views/martha-stewarts-apple-spice-cake-52413371 I omited the nuts and I do my own glaze Powdered Sugar with some lemon juice...it is tart but really good and it will flow over the top of the cake and drip down...you can also just use powder sugar with a sifter!
