Water, Water Everywhere

 

This is how we prepare for a storm around here. We fill up everything in sight with water. 



No electricity means no well. No well means no water. Not for drinking, bathing or flushing. 




We always have a large supply of drinking water stored away that can be easily transported to different parts of the house if need be. 



If the trees aren't behaving we have to shelter in the lower level. 



It was a wonderland of ice outside all weekend but happily the trees stayed up where they belong and the power stayed on. Whew.

    I'm so glad that all was well for you. You'll read in my blog post from tonight that we've been without running water since Thursday because of the parks frozen spigot. Dennis has us fixed up with a full freshwater tank, but it is limited until the water is back on. The joys of winter!

    When I lived on the farm, I always filled the bathtub with water if a power outage was possible. No power = no well water. I used the tub water to flush the toilets.

    That's good to hear! We had snow all weekend. We were supposed to get another couple of inches today, but so far it hasn't shown its face. We'll probably get dumped on tomorrow instead!

    Wow, that's a lot of containers of water! Good job! I'm glad you didn't need them but so much better to be prepared. I'm not going to jinx us by saying our power stayed on.. oops.. but the ice and snow fell on our house all night like we were in a war zone. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
