Tiny Needle Tuesday and Some New Stuff

The only candy I got for Valentine's Day is the candy in my new chocolate puzzle. No sweets for me this year. I wouldn't go near sugar on a dare after that awful bout of thrush. The fruits are more my speed these days but even the acid in them gives my poor tender mouth a fright. I am still eating and drinking with caution even though that nasty fungus is mostly just a very bad memory.

I've also got a new needle. I hope it's going to be my thrumming needle. I've grown to love my little 9 inch circular for knitting colorwork in a small round. It's a game changer. This one is a bit different. One side of the needles is longer than the other supposedly making it even easier to handle. We'll see.

This is new too but I think it might be an ooops. I thought I liked 18 count Aida but it might be 16 count that I wanted. I'll order some more and see what happens. This is the second time I ordered fabric for the Christmas Quaker I bought back in November. Maybe three times will be the charm and I'll get what I need by next Christmas.

As for Tiny Needle Tuesday the only thing that I did this week was put this little reindeer in his box. He needs his partner and then that box will be done. After that I am packing it up. I am so over winter after last weekend. I am over snow. I am over ice. I am over cold. I am over it all. I am bringing out the spring projects groundhog be damned.

  1. I saw that puzzle box and thought you got a box of chocolates for Valentine's Day! lol
I've seen those needles with the longer side. You'll have to let us know how it works as I've been curious. I've tried the 9" for socks but it seemed so fiddly. Maybe I should try again. What do you do when you get to the heel though? That's always my question.
Love that Christmas cross-stitch. The colors are so bright and happy but I do understand your feelings about winter. I'm done with it. I want running water. I want to be able to open the door and windows of the RV and hear the birds singing and the kids playing. *sigh* I guess I have to be patient. We ended up with about 5-6 inches of snow today. I had hoped we were done with it but the mountain passes are all closed. We couldn't drive anywhere outside of Spokane if we wanted to. We have passes in every direction.
Spring is coming though. We're over halfway through February.:-) Yay!
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  2. We ended uphaving our temps go up and just rain last night. Your little reindeer is so cute!! I tried the 9" needles, but maybe my hands are too large? I had difficulty maneuvering them.

  3. Ha! I am ready for Spring, too, even though I haven't had it as bad weather-wise and you have!
The cross stitch looks like you are near the end! The new needle is interesting-I couldn't use the small needle because of not having a good balance in my hands but one needle longer is a good way to counteract that! I hope it works well for you!

  4. oh that's a neat needle! I can't wait to see your thrum mitts! I could have used a pair today. We got 15 inches of snow last night (on top of the 10 inches we got on the weekend.) Dave sprained his elbow on the weekend, so it's been me out there clearing it all - I went through three pairs of knit gloves this morning!

  6. Great new projects! The winter sampler is cheerful and cute. I’m curious to hear your thoughts on the 9” needle. I didn’t care for the ones I tried.

  7. Looks like you have a couple of fun puzzles! I finally got out some X-stitch and actually worked on it on Tiny Needle Tuesday for once. What pattern are you using for your thrum mittens?

  9. oh Deb! I had thrush too and it was painful and lasted a long time . Im sorry . I had to stay away from all orange juice, lemon juice and any tomato or tomato juice. I found salt water rinses helped at night I also switched to no mint toothpaste. I love your cross stitch but you are the boss!!!!! Puzzles! Great gift
