One Year

It was one year ago today that I was last in a store doing my own shopping. The Mister and I went over to Walmart with Pup and we took turns getting what we thought we needed to survive the impending lockdown. I came out with a cart full of non-perishables and he came out with.....this. I had a good laugh about it at the time but then quickly realized we were in the deep stuff when it came to food, cleaning products and above all-toilet paper.

Being smack in the middle of a kitchen remodel added to the problem. Without workman coming in to measure and install the counter tops the rest wasn't happening. It still hasn't but we are surviving just fine in the chaos.

On the bright side, I have had a lot of fun with my puzzles. I always had one going over at Dad's and had forgotten how much I liked them. I look forward to it everyday. This is the latest. It's another one of my tiny ones-hand for scale.
One year. Can you believe it?

  1. I remember that shopping trip and how I laughed at The Mister's choices then. I'll be he's wished many times that he had chosen wiser.
One year! It's crazy. I hear about 5:00 this afternoon about a new site for vaccinations. I went online and there were 2 appointments left out of several hundred so I booked one of them for Dennis. He gets his first injection of the phyizer vaccine on Monday afternoon! I'm so glad he'll be somewhat protected. Who knows when I'll be elegible?
    Blessings,

  2. I still stock on TP. That's the thing that worries me, for no good reason!
You've lived in an incomplete kitchen for a long time. I think that's pretty amazing.

  3. AS my toilet paper fears are still very vivid I keep a huge stash at my house. It is so strange that it has been a year since all of our panic began. Stay safe.

  4. Yum ...... Mister's choices were at least TASTY!

I don't think we've hit the year mark quite yet. I THINK things shut down March 17 in our area. Can't believe we are THAT CLOSE to a year of this new level of hell.

  5. I know for a lot of people, 2020 dragged - but for me it just flew by!

  6. March 17th was when things shut down here. I still remember the eerie silence that settled on the community. Chocolate is an essential food group all on its own!

  7. It's been memorable....
The candy is a way to cope with it all!

  8. My immediate reaction to this year mark is how innocent we all used to be; hopefully, we can go forward in strength and hope. I still think candy is a good idea - I can improvise on other things but only chocolate is chocolate!
