Homage to My Wolf Pup

I miss my loom. My poor little Wolf Pup had to get packed up for the remodel. The space it used to be in is filled with boxes from my kitchen.

I miss getting to play with all my pretty cottons.

I miss my bobbins.

I miss winding stuff on my warping board. It was good exercise.

I miss banging away. I love the rhythm of weaving.

I miss fooling with all the loose ends. There is a weird thrill when it all works out as it should.

I miss tying all those funny knots.

I miss coming out in the morning and admiring what I did the day before. I still can't believe I can do this. It's just so cool.

I miss cutting stuff off, hemming it and putting it into the wash for the first time where it is transformed.

I miss everything about my little loom. Every time I have to dust it I think about taking it out of the corner it's folded up in and rearranging things so I can set it back up but I think The Mister would kill me. For now I'll have to make do with just taking a trip down memory lane.

  1. I love that blue, purple and green check fabric. Gorgeous colors. Someday I would like to learn to weave.

  2. I have much smaller looms but miss those. I gave away my big adjustable wooden loom and my 24 inch Ashford table loom. Still I have two left and I never get them out, there is just not enough time in my life right now. Stay safe.

  3. That's a bummer!!!!! I think about the beautiful weaving you do and am sure you miss it! Time to call in some contractors to finish your remodel! Enough already!

  4. Something to look forward to indeed! I should send you that green yarn that I think was intended for loom work. ....

  5. It’s difficult to deal with the chaos of remodeling for an extended period of time: throw 2020 into the mix, and I’m sure it’s depressing and overwhelming.

  8. I'm sorry you are missing your loom but I'm sort of glad too. Every time I see a post about someone weaving, I want to rush out and buy a loom. And I don't want a little table top loom, I want a big giant one that takes up a ton of space and probably costs more than my house. Therefore, I'm glad you aren't weaving. I'm selfish like that. :)
