Fresh Air

It was hot today but not stinking hot so I spent the afternoon at the park looking at my dog's behind as she chugged along ahead of me. It was good to just get out without having chores or pick ups to manage.

The park is across the street from McDonald's. The Mister didn't have to work too hard to convince me to go through the drive thru again. Last week's lunch didn't seem to kill us.

The night before I had made the WORST cake in the entire world. I was tired of banana bread so I found a recipe for banana cake with cream cheese frosting. It was disgusting. It was like eating banana flavored paste with icing. Ugh. Never again.

The worst part was that I wasted a bag of these amazing chocolate chips. I love these things. I hope I can get another bag somewhere. I need to always have a bag of these handy.

Since it is weird food week-meaning the week in between deliveries and pick ups I made something I saw someone make on YouTube for dinner. It involves ramen, corn, cheese and mayonnaise. Sound yummy? Not at all....but it's what I have in the pantry right now.

It wasn't half bad. A full tummy, is a full tummy.

  1. Look at thta blue sky!! Our days (and nights) have been really nice - no need for the AC (finally). Sorry your food adventures haven't been that great. Hope you can get more of those chocolate chips - they are the best!!

  2. I bet Pup loved being at the park!

I'm not allowed to put dark chocolate chips in the chocolate chip cookies. Dave whines. But I love them!

  3. I'm so glad you were able to get out and walk. It's been in the 100's for the past 5 days and today is supposed to be 94 before dropping into the 80's for a few days. I'm looking forward to that. Of course we moved in the midst of all of that heat. I took Chloe to the dog park here at the RV park and met two people and their pooches. I stayed far away and discovered that one lady is a L & D nurse and the other one is a doctor! All sorts of people in an RV park. It's a popular way to live these days.
Your food adventures look good but I'm sorry the cake did't turn out so well. I love those chips so I hope you can find more.
    Take care and stay well.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  4. Thrilled to hear that you had an outing with the Pup. It’s been so smoky (massive wildfires all around) that I hate to go outside even to get the mail. I’ve never tried the dark chocolate chips, but I could easily get addicted to the milk chocolate chips.

  6. Too bad about the cake...all that work to make a cake and then it doesn't taste good.
I have never had ramen but my grands like it:)

  7. Your ramen creation is admirably innovative!
I love McDonald's fries. I get an order every 3 or 4 weeks. It hasn't hurt me.
