Making Sandwiches

Even though my sewing room is back in business I just haven't had the mojo to get anything done in there. Yesterday I forced myself to get the backing on Daddio's Nine Patch. I have to say as much as I didn't want to do it I found the whole process enjoyable. Ironing the fusible batting is a relaxing job once it's all cut and ready to go.

I had to go dig through his stash for something big enough and I found this for the back. It's just crazy enough that I think he would approve.

Since it all went so smoothly I went ahead and made a sandwich out of the Dresden. My new big Ikea dining table came in very handy. Crabs on Sunday, quilts on Monday.

Even though I use fusible batting I still pin.

I had to piece the backing on this one because it was so big. I hate that job but it's done, done, done. Now let the machine quilting begin. I think I am going to start with this one.

  1. I really like that back you choose for the nine-patch. But, my favorite is that Dresden. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
