Le Grand Depart

Before I could take off spinning for this year's Tour de Fleece I had some work to do. After sharing the soap room for the past year, my wheels were a mess. They got a scrubbing, a polishing and an oiling. They are ready to go and so am I.

I made myself a little spinning nook in front of the TV. I even drug in a cabinet that was scheduled for donation.

It can stay right here for a while because I have a lot of unsightly spinning doo dads that need hiding for the duration and from the kitties.

 I've got bins of rolags.

 And baskets of spindles.

Here's my cotton spinning project from last year. I can't believe I forgot to knit it up into a dishcloth. It's up next in the dishcloth queue.

My only remaining project is this one. It's umm.....er....I can't remember. I'll have to look it up. I do know it's from some fleece that I washed and dyed blue.

It's not a fun spin because it's some pretty terrible fiber but I'll push through it. It will be this year's challenge.

Today's only job will be to ply these singles. I finished them just in time to free up another wheel. That will make two. I'll be stash diving tomorrow to see what I can come up with.

I'm intrigued by the 'spindle' (?) in the cotton photo--I've never seen anything like it!
