Walking Weather

It's not cool anymore but for two blessed days this week it was decent enough for an early morning walk with the dogs.

They've both had a miserable summer with allergies. Me too.

No wonder. It's a jungle out there and it's all in bloom.

Our street is covered in vines. There could be a T Rex in there somewhere and I wouldn't know it until it was too late.

The poke is beginning to ripen.

I'm thinking that maybe Finley the Shetland fleece could use some color but it's so hot and muggy again I don't want to even think about fleece at the moment.

This is all I ever see of Pup on our walks. She is all nose to the ground. It's annoying. I want to walk, she wants to stop and sniff everything.

At least she is a little dog with little legs. I'm not sure I could keep up with anything bigger or faster these days. The march of time is taking its toll.

  1. Awwwwwwwwwwww...why is little pup wearing a cone of shame???

I learned something on your blog. I didn't know those black "berries" were poke. I see a lot of that on my walks.

    1. Allergies. She will chew herself raw in seconds if she's not wearing it. It's very soft fun foam. She even sleeps in it. No meds work anymore, no ointments, poor old thing. We just have to keep her from licking. As if....

  2. We haven't had 'take a morning walk' day yet.
Soon enough. The dogs enjoyed it as did you , I am sure! Another month will really see a difference!

  4. Fun! I'm glad you were able to take a walk with your babies. It has been an unusually hot summer hasn't it? I enjoyed seeing your dogs. So cute, even with the "cone of shame". Mandy has to do that with her lab too because of allergies. Prolly will lick her paws raw. So sad. Enjoy your Saturday.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  6. The march of time is taking it's toll down here in Florida too. You are not alone in that!

  7. Cute! I love that stroller and the fact that the cone matches it is just over the top. LOL! To hot here yet for walks. Looks like a nice quiet road for walking too.
