Stuck

That linen rug pattern that I was hooking on a few weeks ago did not belong to me. It was The Mister's. I priced one of my own but-ouch, they are expensive. I can draw a bit so I thought that I might buy some blank burlap and come up with my own design. It couldn't be that hard. Right?

Wrong. This is as far as I got.  Maybe I better start with something small. Very small. If you want to see what has inspired and terrified me at the same time look here. I dare you.

  1. They're beautiful! But what a commitment! Looks like it would take quite a while to finish one. Very cool though. Can't wait to see what design you come up with.

  2. Hi , rug hooking with wool or fabric? The site that you linked to had some amazing work on it ! One of my wheels has a hooked rug to sit on as we had to look at various rug making methods whilst studying creative embroidery.

    1. It's wool I'll be using when I get the courage to start!

  4. I used fabric, old cotton cot blankets picked up at a local flea market then dyed and worked into hessien, great fun and produced a heavy rug which will hopefully last for years, somehow don't think I would have the patience for wool :-)

    1. I should have said wool fabric. I am such a newbie that until I saw a video on You Tube of someone doing this with roving just now, I had no idea it could be done. You are right about patience. There would be no way I would be doing that!
