Big Needle Wednesday

I like how Tiny Needle Tuesday has been keeping me motivated to stitch during the week so I am going to be holding myself to Big Needle Wednesdays for a while until my mojo comes back. There is knitting going on. It's just that I'm not terribly excited about it so it's hard to share. The Almost Lost dishcloth is still holding my attention. I've got one more done and started one with some pretty Dishie from Knit Picks.

Socks, socks, socks. One past the heel. One at the heel. Two getting close to the heel. I love this Hawthorne btw. Jade Island is my favorite colorway so far.

I do love this project. It's the Bosc Pear shawl. I love the way my handspun is changing colors. I love the feel of the yarn. I love that I have the pattern memorized so it's an easy knit. So. Much. Love.

Not so much love here. I've only put on six more rows since the last time I posted. I have to be in the mood for lace and I'm just not feeling it.

Then there is this. My Northern Lights Hat might just be a big fail. I tried it on. It barely fits. I should have known better. My tension always gets tight when I do colorwork. Oh well, I'm going on with it anyway. If it's too small it will just be another hat in my big hatbox full of fails. I stink at making hats.

  2. Big Needle Wednesday - LOL. I wish TNT were more motivating to me, but it's not. I will eventually finish Fox Forest, but it won't be very quick!

Meanwhile, all of your Big Needle projects are lovely. I've knit socks with Hawthorn and really like that yarn. can blocking help Northern Lights? Or maybe it will be for one of your grandchildren???

  3. Love the Bosc Pear shawl!! Look very lovely and I love patterns that are easy to memorize. When I go to knitting group I always take what I call a "stupid" project, one that I can knit and talk at the same time! Love the socks!

  4. I love them all but I think Bosc Pear might be my favourite!

  5. Oh, how I love all your knitting projects! Bosc Pear and Northern Lights are beautiful. It's been a long time since I've knit the dishcloth pattern - why didn't I think of using a provisional cast on!

  6. You have such beautiful projects going on. I always have the dishcloth on the go too. The shawl with your handspun is my hands down favorite. It's stunning!

  7. I'm struggling with a lace project at the moment myself so I can relate. Bummer that the hat won't fit because the color work is beautiful!

  8. Your shawl is looking beautiful and it certainly does not look like an easy knit. Love the socks - particularly the color Jade Island.

  11. Everything is so pretty; I'm glad you found a Hawthorne yarn that you love! The reason you are bogged down with the lace project is because there is no rest row on the return row!
The hat--will fit a grand maybe--it is made with wonderful colors!

  12. LOVE what I'm assuming are the Jade Island socks. Are the middle socks knit from The Pearl? The yarn ball looks like it but the stripes are much wider than I'd think The Pearl would make. And that hat! I absolutely LOVE that hat! Hopefully it will block out big enough to wear.

    1. The middle socks are Lang's Jawoll. I've got some Pearl. It's up next in the man sock queue!
