A Hit and a Miss

Well. I learned one thing yesterday.

I stink at nailing things. We started the floor and it took forever to get the first few rows sorted out. That's some of my handiwork. The Mister spent more time pulling out my nails than he did nailing his own.

We are not using the nail gun and the compressor because when we used it for the molding in the bathroom Pup want crazy. It terrified her. I said no way to it this time but doing it this way is going to take forever.

This is as far as we got on day one. I'm not in any hurry. I can still sleep on my mattress on the floor. As long as I have a place to stretch out, this can go on as long as it needs to. It's all good.

  1. That's about the same way I hammer in nails too.

Good luck with the flooring. It's going to look beautiful!

  2. I think I would see if someone could take pup for a few hours and use the gun. Your back will break. Cheryl aka

  5. You'll love the flooring when it's installed. I agree with Cheryl, find someone to watch the Pup and use the nail gun.

  6. I'm with Cheryl-get a babysitter and use that nail gun! You will work so much faster and not have such a backache!

  7. The floor is going to be beautiful. I would probably have the same reaction to the nail gun and compressor as Pup.

  8. Oh my dear dog Huck hated hammering. The cats are not big fans either. Look at you go though!

  9. I agree with Pup - those nail guns scare me to pieces and compressors are so so noisy! I don't remember ever trying to hammer a nail into anything much less at floor level - it looks very difficult! But, I'm glad you are so relaxed about the project and it will be lovely!

  10. I am crap for hammering at an angle. It's nice you don't have to spook the poor pup. I like that you're enjoying the process. It's off to a great start :)

  11. Just don't hammer your finger! Hang in there, it'll be worth the effort

  12. Making arrangements for pup to be elsewhere during renovations is a good plan. Great problem solving in the earlier comments. You have good friends who want to help.
