Road Trip

It takes an hour up and back to get to Ikea. I get to knit the whole way. That's my idea of a good time.

I was too thrilled to be there to get any photos of the heavenly showroom but I did notice that it was still Christmas and everything was half price.

I haven't been anywhere in ages so I took advantage. I filled two carts.

I was very proud of myself when I skipped the bun. I really wanted a bun but I am back on my usual eating plan and I'm sticking to it. I need to be the Mother of the Groom in May. I really, really need to shed a few before I have to shop for some grownup clothes.

There was no knitting on the way home. I had to hold onto the four huge boxes of closet side panels for dear life. Of course they didn't have everything. The two drawer units I needed were out of stock even though the computer showed there were 7 in the store. Because of this discrepancy Ikea is shipping them to me free of charge. That's just so cool. I love Ikea.

  1. Boy, I miss Mandy living in Portland, Oregon. I always went to IKEA when I visited her. The nearest one to us is almost 300 miles away. Needless to say I don’t go to IKEA very often. Maybe once every couple of years. I can’t wait to see the goodies that you bought. I can live vicariously through you can’t I? Ha! Blessings, Betsy

  3. I bet you had fun! I love Ikea...but it is one of those places (like Costco) where you walk out with more than you intended to buy when you walked in. LOL

  6. So it was a two cart shopping spree and a good day out. Looks pretty crowded in the vehicle. Looking forward to seeing your new closet.
