Down Memory Lane

The Mister has been busy taking care of his late mother's estate and the journey brought us to a place we hadn't been in ages.

This park is right behind the school where I began my teaching career and I spent many hours on these paths during our walking field trips.

We had our end of the year picnics here.

The lake is over a mile around.

This bit of wilderness in the middle of the city is a big attraction.

That bench and I go way back. It sits on a peninsula where, if you are quiet, you can see the wildlife in action. Trying to convince my class to be quiet was a losing battle but we still saw plenty of ducks and turtles.

It was a lovely day and a lovely walk. It's hard to believe all that happened almost 30 years ago. Where does the time go?

  1. Such a fun trip down memory lane with you today. It looks like a very peaceful spot and somewhere I would like to take walks.
    Blessings, Betsy

  2. I don't know, but it seems to fly by faster every year.

  3. Yes, the time flies... Beautiful place, nice memories.

  4. Nice to go and visit a good memory! Time goes by one tick at a time!

  5. The first place my sister and her husband lived when they got married was in Greenbelt - Springhill Lake to be specific! How surprising to come across it in your post. :-)

    1. Small world!! The Mister and I grew up in walking distance of those apartments. His mom lived right around the corner.

  6. And the older we get the faster it flys bye. Beautiful wooded walking areas are such treasures expecially when in the middle of a city.

  7. When we were first married our family lived in Frederick, MD. At that time it was growing so quickly. It's nice to see that there is something that remains the same and is so pretty!
