Wednesday WIPs

Grrrr....you see that? That's a knot.

And here's another. In the same skein. There ought to be a law about this especially in self striping yarn that gets all out of whack when they just tie it together willy nilly.

I hate to say it but Knit Picks did it to me again with this Brava Stripe.  I really need to rewind all their yarn and check it to avoid this issue. It happens way too frequently. This is my second try at a pompom hat for the Grand. I'm making this one a bit wider and a bit taller. Until I have a head to try it on I'll have no idea if that's the right direction but I'll just keep knitting until I do.

Bon Amie has a sleeve in progress. I've also got about 12 inches of all those ends woven in on the body. I'm finding it a ridiculously enjoyable thing to do which is a big surprise since I've been dreading it.

And...we're still living in a winter wonderland here. We've had enough melting that getting out is not a problem but there are still a lot of places where you have to watch your step among the iced paths and the giant mounds of snow.

Pup is getting her daily walk in again but we've had to get creative at finding her places to go. It'll still be cold for the next few days and then warm up over the weekend with......rain. Booooo. The snow may not be as fresh or white as it was but at least it's not mud.

  1. Knots in a skein is so annoying and more than one? Real frustration sets in. I always dither about whether to cut it out or try to hide the knot within the stitch. That rarely works, I can usually feel the knot.
Your snow does look pretty. We don't have any snow and that's okay with me. I would much rather it warm up and rain. :-)
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  2. Sorry to hear about the knots - how annoying. The sleeve looks stunning. Pup looks like she has her owners completely in check and trained well LOL.

  3. Well that's sure annoying about the yarn. I have not had any issues with yarn from KnitPicks (so far). I'm still finding it hard to believe that you got so much more snow than we did!

  4. I've knit with a few different yarns from Knitpicks and they should be called Knotpicks. I don't think I've ever had a skein from them that didn't have at least one knot. Your Bon Amie sleeve is beautiful; I especially like that light blue.

  5. Looks like you've got about as much snow as we do. But no melting here - we're in a deep freeze. Even Dave was complaining about being cold when we were out shopping the other night - and he NEVER complains about the cold!

  6. Oh, to be able to walk with my dog through all that snow...
