Sandwiching the February quilt was the only really productive thing I did yesterday. After wrangling that backing that had to be pieced and then hauling everything in and out of the sewing room, I spent the rest of the day doing the least amount of anything possible. I do have to say that the pool noodle method on the dining room table worked like a charm again. Maybe today I'll have the will to put everything away in the sewing room and make space to do some machine quilting. 13 days and counting.

I do love that sweet quilt. We're having a Valentine event here at our condo for some friends on Feb. 7. In October we carved pumpkins at Jeff & Angie's house. In December, gingerbread houses were decorated at Amanda's house. (I was sick but made Dennis go anyway. He did a great job on his house!) In February we're decorating cakes for Valentine's Day here at our house. There are three couples and Amanda, a single lady who is wonderful. It helps the dreary days pass by. In the spring, summer and fall we all camp together every 6 weeks or so. I've bought 5 inch cake pans with lids to pre-bake cakes in. Several containers of icing. Several tubes of writing icing, sprinkles, heart sprinkles, flavored glitter and lots of candies. I think I'm set. Oh, and a tablecloth and napkins so we can eat the cake too. I love Valentines's day. It's just fun with no pressure.
