Wednesday WIPs

Lots of you asked me about snow totals yesterday and here's your answer. A lot. The Mister and I don't agree to the actual number. He says 9 3/4 inches but my 12 inch ruler goes all the way down on my table so I suppose it's where you are measuring.

Yesterday morning we had a lot of shoveling to do but it was so cold that the snow was light and fluffy. I never even put my boots on. Two pairs of handspun socks and my Crocs worked just fine. My Lopi mittens are a snowy mess but they do the job. My hands stayed warm and dry.

We took a couple of slides down the driveway. It's better for making a path than shoveling. Shoveling leaves it icy but the sleds pack the snow down which is better for old folks walking up and down it.

Before we came in, I drug my finished Audun out for its mugshot. Being cheap acrylic it dried very quickly over the upstairs railing and was put to good use on the couch later that afternoon.

As for WIPs, The pompom hat is nearing its end as are the socks which is a good thing because.....

....something about snow makes me want to knit all the things. Look at this pile of yarn I've pulled out of my stash thinking I was going to put it to use this snowy week. It's still sitting there.

I am going to keep out this pile. I really need a pair of decent mittens. The pair I use the most have a hole in them. We're expecting more snow on Saturday so they just might hold my interest enough to get cast on.

  1. And we ended up with nothing. Zip. Ziltch. Nada. Which is absolutely fine with me. We do have the extreme cold although tomorrow is supposed to be better and it's only getting down to 5F tonight as opposed to below 0 temps.
Love all of the wooly goodness on this post, especially the featured mittens and two pair of socks that did the job they were meant to be used for. Audun looks wonderful!
    Blessigs and hugs,

  3. That sure is a lot of snow!! We only got about 2" which was enough. I can't believe you just wore two pairs of socks and Crocs outside! Auden looks gorgeous draped over the chair on the snowy deck. I may need to dig through my stash to pull out more yarn!
