Knit Not

Uh, oh....that ball of yarn is getting too small, too fast. That's a problem.

I had to stop making increase repeats so that I don't run out. I am on the body section now. I am going to have to cut that short too so I can start decreasing and get this thing over with. It's making me nervous. Yarn chicken is scary business.

I do have my leftover skein as a back up insurance plan. Good thing.

I am also the last row of ribbing on the crazy cowl. I have been doing one round a night. It's all my brain can take of it at this point. That's a lot of stitches around that thing and this terrible weather has given me a headache that won't go away.

I am starting to wonder if it's is going to work at all.  It's awfully wide and short. I am not sure how much neck wrapping it will be good for but we shall soon see. If this weather holds up, I'll be wearing it tomorrow.

  1. Love the purple/yellow combo. It looks like it will keep you nice and snug.

  2. The green shawl is so beautiful!

  3. The cowl is amazing! Really cool! Love it.

  4. Your Shawl is so beautiful. Modifications....part of life!
Your cowl is so pretty. I hope you can wear it and love it soon

  5. Shawl chicken is a risky thing! I hope you win! The fancy crazy cowl is incredible~ you are doing a fantastic job~

  6. I hate playing yarn chicken. It ruins the process for me!'
I love the cowl, but the dimensions look odd. You won't know until you try it on.

  7. Yarn chicken is a tough game to play, not for the faint of heart that is for sure. Love teh cowl.

  8. You can do it! Yarn chicken is a scary business. I made something recently, I can't even remember what it was, but I had 37 inches of yarn left when I finished. That was way too close. :-). Both your shawl and cowl are looking great. I hope it warms up for you soon. We finally have some blue skies today and then rain predicted for the weekend again.

  9. Yarn Chicken makes me crazy nervous! Sometimes I just stop knitting b/c I'm so nervous! Silly, I know. Anyhow, your back up plan is solid so no worries, you've got this! The cowl is just so cool looking. I love seeing the knit up close, so different.Magic!
