The Antidote

I was driving myself crazy trying to clear a space large enough in the house to work on this huge backdrop when it occurred to me that the ice rink had a nice, big and very clean floor to work on.

I had sewn all the flowers together and then took them with me to Sunday's practice to pin on. Now I can throw the giant thing across the table so I can sew it all down.

It must be fall because I already have a pile of costumes that need altering.

We just got a large order of Pottery Barn fish costumes. They are the cutest things ever. So is our little puffer fish here. I should mention she is one of 15. Yes, I said 15. Mom had baby brother a few months ago. I've never met a happier family. They are such an inspiration.

I'm still working on the jelly fish costumes. I have to be a jelly fish and not a shark. I am beyond sad but sometimes it just works out that way. That's not me. That's my jelly fish partner. She is new to the team and having a blast being out there with her daughter. That's what it's all about.

I also had to say that while driving home I got to listen to some of last night's debate.  There has been so much ugly that it's hard to listen to any of it. It's too bad everyone can't be like our team. We come in all shades of brown, come from all corners of the world, believe or don't believe but above all we are there for each other. Tonight we welcomed back a skater who had been out battling cancer. It makes me glad that we're doing Yellow Submarine this year. It's nice to take these kids back to the days of peace and love even if it's just for a few hours on Sunday.

  1. Brilliant idea to take the backdrop to the ice rink! I think the little puffer fish is just darling and that jellyfish closure is amazing. I'm missing blogging, but I'm going to try again tonight and see if blogger will let me post.

  6. That little puffer fish is adorable....just adorable. She's a good distraction from what's going on in this country right now and I hope for her sake this election ends with Hillary on top.
