Bang a Drum

 Yesterday we took a stroll down to the bay to watch the annual Dragonboat Festival.

 Every year I say I am going to get a team together and enter the race.

 I never do. It looks like lot of fun but it's a big commitment.

You need a lot of rowers. Sixteen to be exact. You also need $2000. There were 32 boats this year. That's twice as many as last year. The organization supplies the drummers and the music. You can hear the ruckus all the way to our house.

 Then there is the booth you have to erect to solicit even more donations.

 The boardwalk was lined with booths this year.

Not to mention all the practice time you have to put in to learn how to row the boat.

There's always next year.
