Rainy Day Blues

Yesterday was a rainy day. I love rainy days. It would have been a good day to pick up a good book and curl up in a corner and I should have done just that because everything I did turned out awful. At least The Mister got the molding painted without any drama.

It was a good day for soup. It would have been a better day if I had thought to turn the knob from warm to high. I had raw soup for dinner.

While the soup wasn't cooking I was trying to put the Sunflower quilt together. I ripped out more than I sewed on.

For the life of me I couldn't get that white sashing lined up right. I used all the tricks I know but it turned out to be a day of trial and error with the emphasis on error. Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed.

  1. I'm sorry about the day. The soup does look good though. You need an Instant Pot. 10-15 minutes in it and your soup would be done!
The quilt is looking lovely and I'm sure you'll figure it out. Next time you work on it, everything will go together perfectly. :)

  3. I've done the exact same thing with slow-cooker stew a couple of times. The first time I could not figure out why the veggies were still hard!

  4. On days like that it’s best to just put everything in timeout.

  5. Ugh! I hate it when you have raw soup for dinner. I can't tell you how many times I have forgotten to either plug the crock pot in or turn it on this past winter. I'm starting to think I might be closer to an Alzheimer's diagnose than I like to joke about. :O
Hope you can get the quilt done without too much more hassle.

  6. I agree with that sentiment! lol
The quilt is going to be a beauty! I always lay the next row on top of the row lining up the vertical sashings--it's a challenge! Dinner undercooked--I've done it , too. bummer!
