Rain, Rain

It's been really raining here. Really raining. My flood alerts keep going off but we're okay. It was so dark and dreary I had a hard time getting interested in doing anything. If I'd been here all alone I'd have spent the day in bed watching movies. Have you seen The Queen's Gambit on Netflix? I LOVED it. What I did do is try to put all my circulars back in their packages. It didn't work. I am either missing a whole lot of needles or a whole lot of packages. I am not sure which.

After that failure I decided cleaning up the soap corner of the room was a better idea. I tossed an awful lot of expired or opened ingredients. If and when I go back to making soap I am starting fresh. Like everything else it's been hard to get supplies online. Everything is always sold out. I have a hard time thinking everyone is home making soap but I guess they are.

And as if we don't have enough to worry about......
Stay safe.
Stay home.

  1. I hadn't even thought about the date. Good thing I'm not going anywhere. We're in another winter storm warning with 6-8 inches predicted tonight and tomorrow. It's supposed to warm up next week though. Into the high 40's so hopefully most of this stuff will melt. It's just too early in the season to have this much snow already.
I'm sorry you've had such dreary weather too. I miss the sunshine. Covid is exploding everywhere and I don't think I'm ever going to see my kids again. The winter blues are setting in, can you tell?
Take care and breathe deeply my friend.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  2. It was so dark yesterday!! Rain all day (we did not have the heavy stuff, but still...). It looked like night time when I ran out for a couple of errands!

  3. I hadn't noticed the date either! It is gloomy here, too, and I am having a hard time to start--good idea on cleaning out, it always helps me jumpstart my focus!

  4. We have sun in this part of Maryland today. But it's a bit cool! I started the Queen's Gambit, but haven't even gotten through the first half hour. So glad that you like it! I will go back and watch.

  5. Deb, Dont' make yourself do anything if you don't want. Permission granted. Take a bath. Take a nap. Watch reruns the make you laugh. I love Friday the 13th because of my black cats! Have you fallen down the show me your rhinebeck sweater hole? It is so so fun. hugs

  7. We had crazy amounts of rain. Thankfully, although our river flooded it's banks, it didn't do so bad enough to reach our house. In our old neighborhood, the flooding was so bad people were trapped and couldn't even access the emergency exit road.
As for the needles and their packages, I think elves sneak in and change the size on the package while I'm knitting with the needles. My needles never seem to match to the packages.
