Sew What

I went stash diving to find some inspiration for a summer mini quilt.

I missed having a paper piecing project in progress.

Not bad. I'm fussy cutting it so it's going to be slow going.

I had an awful time though threading the needles. Thank goodness for threaders...

...and glue sticks. It makes the process so much easier. No more poked fingers from trying to sew around pins.

  1. It's going to be beautiful. You have so many talents! I'm curious. How do you use the glue?

    1. You put a dab on the back of the paper piece and then stick it to the fabric. It holds really well and then just pulls off when it's time to remove the paper piece-like a post it.

  2. The paper piecing is so pretty! Well worth your efforts to fussy cut-a nice, slow hand sewing project!

  3. Oh I love this one!! The shapes and colors are wonderful! Don't blame you for passing on the pins....those things can be lethal.

  4. You amaze me lady. I tried to embroider something yesterday for the first time. I bought the hoop, the needles and floss. My fingers hurt! I suspect the old pillowcase I practiced on was not the best for wrists/fingers/hands to pull through...

  5. I'm honestly intrigued by the paper piecing projects. I think the glue stickthing is really making it more palatable. One day! When I get a sewing machine! Maybe when I retire... or win the lottery and retire early. SWOON.

  6. That is going to be a spectacular mini quilt. I can't believe how carefully you had to cut for those leaves to come out right. I can't wait to see how it comes along.

  7. They are SO pretty.

What happens to the paper after you stitch up the fabric? Do you leave it IN there or does it get removed somehow?

    1. You pull them out after they've all been stitched together.
