Big Things

Something really big showed up on the horizon the other day. They've been doing a lot of work down by the bay on our side of town. They tore down an old restaurant that was there and are building a big complex of gaming rooms and eateries. All those buildings under the crane are brand spanking new.

On the other side from that new complex is our poor little railroad museum. We used to have a direct line here from Washington, DC. You can still see the tracks in some places. It would sure be nice to still have that train running. I would love to be able to jump on a train and go down to the museums or Georgetown for some shopping.

For now the giant parking garage for the complex is free so we go up there from time to time to check out the progress. That's where I took all these photos. It's going to have a walkway to connect the two and an elevator. If The Mister and I had won the big lottery last week we'd be buying one of those fabulous townhouses you see across the inlet. We didn't but we had a nice week of dreaming about spending that money.

  1. This giant cranes make me jumpy! Was the restaurant they tor down closed? Or are they just making "progeress" (as they call it)?

  2. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have that view over the water every day, but I don't think I'd want to be around so many people. That entertainment complex is sure to pack them in.
