My sister asked my father to make her some hexagons for a quilt she wanted to make. He thought she was making herself a quilt but in reality it was for him. She surprised him with it on Christmas Eve.

I love the way she used the little granny flowers in the large blocks and then backed it with a soft calico. It is really beautiful. The only problem is that she lit a fire under the old man and he is already making more hexagons!
Oh no, not more hexagons! I need to sit and figure out how to sew the other gazillion I still have together by machine instead of by hand. Just seeing that quilt has lit a fire under me too, I want to start another one. Hopefully the next one will be more trial and a lot less error :)
