Off the Chart

I wanted to make a classic (cheap) cabled pullover to wear to Rhinebeck this year. I settled on a free pattern from Lion Brand. I bought the Fisherman's wool before I downloaded the pattern and then discovered THERE WAS NO CHART. I suppose you get what you pay for. Edited to say: there is a chart for it. I found one on a Ravelry group but I can't understand it so I am sticking with my version for now.

If you have ever knit cables, you know that it is mind boggling trying to keep track of where you are since the cable pattern rows are never numerically equal. I had to invent a series of symbols and then chart out each cable by hand. In spite of all this work, I'm betting I will be wearing my Lopi again this year. Time will tell.
