The 8 ply Regia socks are done thanks to the long ride up to Daughter's over the weekend. Knitting socks that thick is not my favorite thing but I have to admit they do make a nice warm pair of socks that you can pull over your regular woollies. These went in the gift box because I already have plenty of thick handspun socks.
Not having any socks on the needles makes me twitchy so I was in the process of getting some Static on the needles when this happened. The yarn got caught in the gears so I had to make a choice. Yarn or ball winder. One wasn't going to survive. I went with yarn because I could replace the cheap ball winder but I couldn't get anymore Static in the Gummiberry colorway that I really, really liked.
Speaking of yarn choices, all of my attempts at matching that Palette are finally here and as you can see none of them would have worked. What an absolute miracle it was to find some. Every time I pick up Bon Amie I count my blessings.
And...since the weather has warmed up considerably, I put all my heavy woollies away yesterday. I did pull out for a wash all of the green shawls and scarves I have along with two pair of green socks I didn't even remember I had. I'l be ready for St Patrick's Day now, my second since I discovered I have a lot of Irish in me.
Those are nice colorful socks, and you have knit a lot of green things! I'm sorry you had to choose between yarn and ball winder, but I'm glad Gummiberry survived.
You have a lot of green things you've knit! I love your thick socks - so cheerful looking. Someone will be very happy. Sorry about the ball winder. I've never had that happen (and I hope I did not jinx myself) - good choice to save the yarn.
