The End of An Era

I'm sad. Tonight begins the last leg of the Eras Tour. Three more nights. Three more grainy livestreams to watch. This time it will start at 11ish here as it takes place in Vancouver. I can't tell you how much fun The Mister and I have had watching and playing Mastermind with all the other Swifties all over the world. I confess: my neck and shoulder pain came from night 6 in Toronto when I got too carried away Shaking It Off.

The Mister wanted to give me a Swifty thing for my birthday and decided I should have the Tour coffee table book that came out on Sunday. It's big. It's beautiful. It's full of memories I'll never forget even though I never set foot in one of the stadiums. I'm going to miss Tess Dear and Amir, my two favorite live streamers. I'm going to miss the off key sing along you get from the on site streamers along with lots of screaming and crying. I'm going to miss the clowning which is Swifty speak for trying to guess the "secret" messages she sends out from her stage gestures and song choices. I'm going to miss the faces of the little ones in the crowd when they see a living, breathing Barbie doll pop up from the floor for the first  time. For almost two years, in a world full of sorrow and worry it was the cure, if only for 3 1/2 hours a few nights a week.

  1. Piper will be right there with you, sad that it's over although she's never been to a concert. We did enjoy a concert put on by her and "Baby J" singing along with the Era's Tour concert.
Mandy even went to Target at 6:00 am on Friday to get the fancy book for her. It IS a gorgeous book.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  2. Her concerts are amazing. I was lucky enough to attend one with my daughter. She is a true performer. Great singer and stage presence.

  3. I don't know much about Taylor Swift aside from hearing an occasional song, but if she can make so many people of all ages happy (internationally!), that is a wondrous thing.

  4. I imagine all this Switfy fanaticism is much like Beatlemania. I'm not a fan (don't hate her, just not my kind of music) but it's nice to see so much enthusiasm and love in a dark world these days

  5. Apologizing in advance: may I giggle at your "Shake It Off"-induced injury?
