Must Be Santa
It's been terribly cold here and the winds have been awful but on Saturday Mother Nature calmed herself down long enough for the town to hold its annual Christmas Parade. I'm not sure why but this year they held it in the daytime which honestly, took some of the magic out of it but we did get a rousing version of Jingle Bells from the cute little old Ladies of Charity.
There were a lot of carts being towed filled with kids dressed up like grumpy elves.
The city librarians did their traditional cart dance. This year they get to work in our big, beautiful new building. I know that's a reason for celebration.
And......on cue, with sirens BLARING, Santa made a big entrance much to Pup's dismay. Every year we say we aren't going to bring her as the noise really upsets her and every year we forget and take her and then immediately regret it. I need to write myself a note on next year's calendar. DOG STAYS HOME.
You have an interesting parade! One year Santa arrived in our parade on a jet boat being towed. It was spewing flames and Santa managed to set the leaves on an oak tree on fire and burn some electric wires. That was memorable!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a huge success!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun parade! Hope your wind wasn't like ours!
ReplyDeleteOh poor Pup. Our librarians do that little dance in our summer parade.
ReplyDeleteNow that looks like a really fun parade. My favorite are the librarians! :-) Poor Pup. Zoey would have been terrified too. The vacuum puts her into a panic attack.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
