Mite Liberation Day

This afternoon Pup has her vet appointment to check for mites. Hopefully it won't just be Liberation Day for her but for me. See that face? That's what I've had to deal with for 10 weeks now. I share her quarantine space from the cats in the blocked off living room and whenever I pick up a project I get the face and the whine.

I'm afraid I've created a monster from all the attention I've given her. I haven't been able to touch her but I've been keeping her entertained and very well fed. Before the mites she wouldn't give me the time of day. She was attached at the hip to The Mister but now I've taught her that I'm an easy touch for treats. She's going to have a rude awakening if she gets the all clear today.

The one habit I'd like to continue is her having her own comfy bed. I bought her a huge dog bed with her own linens and pillow and she loves it. I'd really like to keep her out of the human beds if at all possible when all this is over. I've understandably gotten freaky about bugs and we still have ticks to worry about. I've never seen so many articles about the dangers of ticks as I've seen lately and I sure don't need that on top of all of this. No sirree.

  1. Oh, my fingers, toes and everything else is all crossed for everyone and every animal to be mite free today. What a struggle you've been through. I could never resist that face either. We said we weren't going to give Zoey people food so she wouldn't beg from us. Well, we've created our own monster because she begs like crazy. She's so cute though, that I can't resist her.
Pup looks very comfortable in her bed. Maybe she'll stay there but I wouldn't count on it. :-)
    Good luck my friend!
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  5. I am a firm believer that dogs should have their own beds and a crate where they can enjoy some down time everyday. Hope your visit to the Vet is good!
