Pom Pom Sparkler

I don't know what's come over me this year but I can't get enough of Christmas. I've emptied my holiday closet of every decoration including some I haven't put out in years. That's my vintage Pom Pom Sparkler tree. It looks like a box of dynamite because each delicate branch is individually wrapped.

I had to laugh at the packing slip still in the box. Do you think if I wrote to the company they would send me replacement branches for $1.75? I think not.

It takes forever to put the little thing together but it's so worth it.

She's so pretty. You can't hang much on her or put on lights because of her fragile state but it was so nice to see her again.

And...a rogue cloud dropped a tiny hint of snow on us yesterday just in time for the Solstice....

...so mincemeat had to be made. I'm still dragging my feet on cookies. Maybe tomorrow?

  1. We had a silver 6 foot tree the entire time I was growing up. Each branch was wrapped like that in a brown paper sleeve. They were color coded from longest branch to the shortest. And we had the color wheel that made it sparkle so pretty. I really did love that tree and thought it was so cool. :-) I just love your crocs. They always make me smile.
    Blessings and hugs,

  2. Hmmm, somehow I completely forgot about mincemeat. I may need to get some (not make it) and bake a pie. I like your little tree - so pretty and delicate.

  3. My aunt and uncle had a large floor model sparkly tree and they decorated it with bubble lights. I used to think it was the most beautiful tree in the world and would gaze at it for hours when we visited. I'm glad you unwrapped your tree and put it together!

  4. I have a silver tree, too! The little paper sleeves on each of the branches are so brittle, but have held up every year so far...
