Minor Surgery
No. Not me or The Mister or Pup this time. It was the tree plushies that had to be opened up. It was time for new batteries.
I have quite a collection of the noisy things. The November my mom died, Dad would have nothing to do with Christmas so I bought him some musical friends in hopes of lifting his spirits. It didn't work that year but a few years later, when the loss was more tolerable, he got a kick out of getting them out of the closet for the holidays.
And....I did finally get the tree up and the ornaments on. I'm taking bets on how long it stays up. As soon as I see the first cobweb or dust bunny in close proximity, it goes. That's usually on or very near December 26th.
I like the idea of the musical stuffed animals for your Dad, back in the day. I'm glad you bring them out. The tree looks great!
ReplyDeleteThe UGA Vet School here used to host open houses, which featured a "repair room" for "injured" stuffed toys. The vet students would examine each one, then fix it right up --- gauze, tape and stickers all!
ReplyDeleteI love it!
DeleteI'm glad it's not one of you! Your tree looks great, I didn't even put the big tree up this year. Just not enough energy. I have a "Christ-Moose" plushie that plays music that is usually under the tree. I've had it for years and the kids have always loved it. It was very thoughtful to get them for your Dad. I'm sure he loved them.
