December

I cheated the December KAL for the Christmas stocking Arne and Carlos just finished. I was going to do 6 rows a day in December like they did but I got carried away. I'm hoping this momentum continues. I did try that new tiny needle again and now I love it. It definitely has improved the small circumference tension issues I have with colorwork.

Speaking of issues, that afterthought heel that was supposed to be so easy was anything but. It seems I had crossed my yarns in the scrap yarn area so my heel would not open up. I had to steek the darn thing and it's a mess. The knitting part seems easy but I'm not done so I will withhold my judgement until I actually get a heel. I did not use the one Arne and Carlos have in their pattern. I found an even simpler one online. I hope.

On a happier note, I have some new yarn that just arrived. I've got some more Palette in the colors of my Mosi sweater in hopes of making a hat to match. Some Halloween yarn in the Sanderson colorway also jumped in my cart. I could use a new pair of Halloween socks. The Felici ones I have are nearly worn out. It's a lovely soft sock yarn but I find it doesn't hold up well which is actually fine. It gives me an excuse to knit more.

  1. Your old stocking and the new stocking both look great. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your afterthought heel. I've always been too chicken to attempt one.

  2. I've never tried Felici, but am a long-time fan of the Palette colors.
