Deck the Halls
The Mister woke up like a kid on Christmas itching to get to the first box of his advent puzzle. It took him about 20 minutes to get it assembled.
While he was busy assembling, I was putting up the advent sweaters....
...and changing out the kitchen linens for December.
I didn't decorate too much. I have a closet full of stuff that comes out in dribs and drabs later on but I have to get out the twinkle light my parents gave me many, many moons ago. They gave each of us one and we all cry and commiserate when we get them out each year.
I also freed my holiday Barbies from the back of the shelves and brought them into the living area for the holidays. They are so pretty. I hate to admit it but I spent a ridiculous time combing through eBay to see if there were more vintage ones that needed a good home. No luck so far, but the month is young.
And.... we put up the Ikea star front window display. Nothing says the holidays more than having extension cords all over the place.
Your Barbies are lovely and so is the star (and extension cords)!
ReplyDeleteYou can always make me smile--thank you! (the way you describe things, I mean) The house is looking good with the new decorations--love seeing things out that shine!
ReplyDelete*hahaha*
ReplyDeleteLove all the decor but especially the star!
ReplyDeleteI have the holiday Barbie from 1992. She's out of the box but she's in pretty good shape (never played with just sat on a stand and admired). Would you like her? I can't send right now because the Canadian postal workers are on strike, but as soon as they get back on the street, I'd be happy to pack her up and send her off to a loving home.
ReplyDeleteShe's this one: https://www.amazon.com/Barbie-1429-1992-Holiday-Doll/dp/B002JEH2VK
I had never heard of an advent puzzle before this year. They look like fun.
ReplyDeleteKim is right. Your front window looks gorgeous.
I enjoyed catching up on the past few days. We were so busy all week I wasn't online at all. Love your "Gilmore Girl" town description. Our kids were here for too short a time. For Thanksgiving I made...Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, relish tray, cranberries. My sister brought pies, niece brought rolls and Mandy made sweet potatoes. Dennis and I lugged all of the food to Mandy and Brads and we ate way too much of it. I managed to catch something on Tuesday and woke up to no voice and a sore throat Wednesday and still have both. I can't get into my dr. and was hoping to wait it out since the covid test was negative, but it's been a week and no better. I'm hoping to wake up miraculously better tomorrow so I don't have to go to the walk in clinic.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Blessings,
Betsy
I hope you are feeling better. Your meal sounds wonderful!
