When to Say When

I've been knitting away on this baby blanket forever and it's time to stop. I am one pattern repeat away from where the designer ends it-but this thing is already big enough for even the largest baby.

 I am feeling guilty about bailing on it as I have an obsessive compulsion to always follow patterns to the letter (that's why my sleeves never fit) but I don't want anyone tripping over this-not while carrying my first grandchild.
