Thursday with Daddio

This was not a good knitting day. No matter what I tried to do I ended up mucking it up. First it was the lace edging on the shawl. That was a nightmare that I will spare you photographs of. You can use your imagination. It wasn't pretty.

At the nursing home, I managed to pull the needles out of the sock I was working on. Live stitches were everywhere. It was a sign. This wasn't my day to knit. There was more but I can't go there right now. Later. When I can deal with it. Jeesh. The knitting gods have not been on my side lately.

Daddio's got the right idea. When you can't knit, read about it. Pass me the Knit Picks catalogue, please.

  1. Sometimes you just have to cut your losses and find something else to do. Browsing a Knit Picks catalog sounds good to me!

  2. I've had days like that. Best to just give up your plans and live to knit another day. I'm guessing that your dad enjoyed the colors in the Knit Picks catalog (I know I do!).

  3. Oh no! Such pretty yarn for socks...how could it misbehave like that? The KnitPicks catalogue is a great one to browse....dangerous as well...

    1. Yes, he does. He has several. They were all done by a friend when he was just a kid. You should see my uncle. He was in the navy-submarine crew in the 50's. He has full color Japanese women all up and down his legs. I loved them when I was a kid.

  6. I hope Daddio is okay. I love him reading the knit picks catalog and of course the twiddle mitt on his arm.

  8. Days like that need a good stiff drink when you get home. Glad Daddio could enjoy all the beautiful colors.
