In the Dark


 Somehow I didn't get caught up on all the hubbub about the eclipse.



I didn't order any glasses so I guess I won't be seeing the partial thing we are expecting at about 2 pm. We just may head down to the beach to bask in the shade-as if we don't have enough of that around here everyday anyway. We really haven't seen much of the sun since the leaves filled in.



Long before the internet made it easy to get the glasses, I remember doing this. I wasn't very impressed by this as a kid so I probably won't be any more impressed as a grown up. The next one isn't until 2024. Maybe then I'll be more excited about it. Maybe not.

    I was excited a month ago before the glasses got the price of gold! I want to go out to see it but d-i-l is supposed to bring glasses; she is not known for her timeliness so we will see! I asked DH to get his welding helmet for us to have a view-If not, I will watch it on tv!!!!!

    I think we are going to be clouded over. Just as well. Anything remotely likely to damage my eyes Im freaked out about. Ill watch it from the tree shadows on the ground IF we get a chance

    I vaguely remember a partial solar eclipse when I was a kid. And I remember being very disappointed by it.

    We are right on the edge of the two "Totality band." And I didn't bother to get glasses either. I figure it will get a little dark and then it will be light again!

    Partial eclipses are pretty lame... but I really want to see a total eclipse! can't wait until 2024, when it will be in my neck of the woods :)
