Ohio

Ten hours. I drove ten hours on Friday to get to Oxford, Ohio.

More specifically, to Miami University. I know, I know, I said the same thing. Miami? In Ohio? It's actually a very nice little college town.

Their new rink complex has two sheets of ice.

One is a huge arena. We compete there at this evening with our medium production team. That's the only team that came along for this long ride.

The best part of the day was lunch. They had great pretzels.

The weather is amazing. 60 degrees. I took a break to sit in the sun and knit for a while on Saturday. I was just along for the ride while the individual skaters did their thing.

The competition is fierce here and the judging has been a bit harsh but the kids are taking it in their stride. Travel events are always tough but it's been fun to see teams we have never seen before. Next weekend we will be at first local event so maybe the ice gods will smile on us once again. We may be down-but we are certainly not out.

  2. It is such a good thing for the kids though. It's hard. It brings you down sometimes. But, my son will tell you .......he wouldn't have missed travel competitions for anything in the world.

No one is knitting outside in Wisconsin at this point.

  6. That pretzel looks so good. There use to be a place at the mall that made them, and when I worked there, I'd get one for lunch and eat it with cheese sauce!
