Finishing Up

The punch needle coaster has been sitting here finished for a very long while but I was afraid to do what comes next.

You have to cut the fabric to size and then you have to cover the back with glue to secure the stitches before you glue on the backing. I was convinced I would ruin it but it all went pretty smoothly.

I have a huge pile of felt leftover from dad's sewing adventures so I had just the right color for the backing.

My needle punching skills are nothing to brag about but I now have a place for my afternoon teacup to land.

I was so chuffed with my finish that I started transferring another pattern onto some monk's cloth....

....and pulling out my punch needle yarn to wind up.

I really don't have the skill to make anything much better than the one I made before but that never keeps me from trying. I'm as tickled with that raggedy little coaster as I am with anything else I've ever made and I've made some pretty cool stuff in my time.

And...I have to thank Sandflies for once again sending me a coffee and chocolate shipment. We've had an exchange going on for a few years now. Coffee for soap and if you're wondering whatever happened to Soap Week, come back tomorrow. People, it's finally happening!
