Before I got out the drum carder, I had been hand carding and spindling little bits of that giant mound of raw Jacob fleece that I bought and washed last weekend. It was really a tangled mess so after carding I still had to take the rolag and pull it out and spin from the fold. I managed to get a decent little yarn but it has a scratchy halo that reminds me of mohair. The black fleece spins up much rougher than the white but when it is plied together it looks really nice.
