Tiny Needle Tuesday

Since this week's tiny needle adventures included a booster shot I don't have much in the way of stitching. I did, however, drag out this old friend on Sunday so I could curl up on the couch with it for an hour or so to get the next bottom border started.

Speaking of tiny needles, my first advent sweater is done. I haven't used these itty bitty doublepoints in a long time and it wasn't a whole lot of fun. I am hoping that Palette blooms after a good soaking to hide all my colorwork sins. It's so much easier working on a big circumference.

Today's kitchen update includes caulking which I HATE. It's a stinky, messy job but it has to be done. Ugh.

Window Dressing

I must be feeling better because yesterday I re-arranged my mess of a living room, put up curtains for the first time in three years and hung some new Christmas lights. The Mister and I are too old and wobbly to be climbing around putting up outside lights anymore so this is it. I had shoved all the boxes into one corner and finally had a bit of floor space and a corner that kinda looks like a living room-for now. When we start putting the new flooring in the kitchen/dining area it will all have to come back but for now I will have space for a tree-on the 16th. I never put one up until my birthday or the first snow. Whichever comes first. I'm betting on the 16th but I would love to be wrong.

My 15 Minutes of Fame

Yesterday while I was having another post booster lay in I decided to catch up with Arne and Carlos's daily advent videos. I got a BIG surprise.

On day two they talked about......ME. Well, what they actually did was read a comment I had left on one of their videos and tried to figure out how to pronounce Araignee. I was at a particularly low point last year with that thrush nightmare when Arne released his silent fireplace video and it was just what I needed to calm my frayed pre-vaccination nerves. I never leave comments on YouTube but I felt like I needed to let them know how grateful I was for the respite.

I was feeling much better yesterday so I was knitting away on this at the time but was too excited afterwards to finish it. The Mister was as excited I was. He's sat through so many of their videos I am surprised he hasn't taken up knitting. Squee..........

Down and Out

For those of you asking how I was doing with the booster, this is the answer. I spent yesterday planted on the couch amid the boxes and the piles. I had one miserable night of body aches, chills and a raging headache. My arm felt like someone stuck a harpoon through it. My arm was sore the first two times but nothing like this. Neither The Mister or I slept a wink Thursday night. We both felt awful but after about 24 hours we started to perk up again. I swear if we have to keep getting these jabs every 6 months I am just going to go live in the attic.

Done, Done and Done

We did it. We finished the grouting.

It's finally starting to look like something. I have hope.

I've been getting up early to work on these. I worked on them in the morning, the kitchen all day and the baby quilt at night.
'

But they are finally all done. All 32 of them. I'm tired.

I'm not doing anything for a couple of days. We got boosted yesterday afternoon and I'm planning on some serious couch time while we take a break from the kitchen until Monday when we'll tackle the plumbing IF we are feeling up to it.

Right now I just want to watch Christmas movies and my vintage twinkle light. My parents found this for me in a thrift shop and Dad re-wired it. It's just like the one they always had when we were growing up. If that's all I manage to get out for the holiday this year it will be enough. It means that much to me.

Eat Your Veggies

Eat Your Veggies is the name of the fabric collection I am using for the Grand To Be's little blankie.

I had a lot of fun with it. The center is just a simple disappearing nine patch with some equally simple borders around it. It's all I could manage with the chaos I have to deal with during the day. It's a pretty good little baby size right now so I think I will stop right here.

Speaking of chaos, it's taken us all week to put up the range hood, the back splash and the rest of the tile. None of it was easy. Today we will grout that tile and then I can finally move the stove and the microwave back. Maybe next week I could even have running water again. I really shouldn't be thinking that far ahead because as we all know my kitchen karma stinks.

December

Well.....Arne and Carlos says it takes them about 4 hours to make one of their little advent sweaters and I've been slaving away on mine for a week now knitting at least an hour most nights on it and this is as far as I've gotten. That's one body and one sleeve. I certainly didn't want all 24 of them but a couple would of been nice. Not gonna happen. Not this year anyway.

And...if you haven't already seen this do yourself a favor. It's the cutest thing ever.
Happy December!
