Carrying On
Daughter gave me this ages ago and it hangs in my sewing room. I think it was the general consensus yesterday among us fiber folk. We are so lucky to have a craft and a purpose that transcends all the noise and links us with a past and hopefully to a future.
I took that advice to heart and packed up my travel projects to work on while we ran errands. No more doom scrolling for me.
The Mister needed a new phone so Pup and I sat in the car while he hashed out the details with Verizon. We had to find a nice shady spot since once again it was in the 80's.
The Static twins got their heels flap almost finished. I was happy to see they are still matchy matchy or as matchy as they can be seeing they are Static which is not very matchy at all.
Someone asked me a while ago how I got them matchy matchy and this photo explains it all. I divide the 100 gram ball in half then roll up little balls with the end and keep rolling one until I find a spot that matches the other. I usually try to find the lightest color change since it's easiest on the eyes. Then I clip the two together and roll the little balls out until I get to one of the ends where I snip them off. Then the trick is casting them on at the same time so you start your long tail at the exact same spot. For a better explanation with more photos you can find another blog post of mine about the process here.
