We finally got a coating of white but it's not snow it's....graupel. That's a new to me word that I learned last year for what this stuff is that we've been getting instead of snow lately.
It makes me want a shaved ice or as we call them snow cones. Root beer. I always get one at the MDSW along with some fair fries. Don't they look good?
Well, you finally got some white you wanted! :-). We got MORE snow. And it's in the forecast everyday for the next 7 days. Probably onward too. Bleh!
ReplyDeleteI last had shaved ice on Maui. They make some wonderful flavors and really delicate shaved ice. Almost like ice cream.
Blessings,
Betsy
No white here and we are further North than you! Ours was mostly a rain event with a tiny amount of sleet. Luckily nothing major!
ReplyDeleteWe had that stuff last week. Now we have real snow. Relic does not like either an wants Spring here now.
ReplyDeleteMe? I want those french fries!!!!
I always like snow cones, too! That is a weird 'snow' covering!
ReplyDeleteAha! I learned a new word! We have had graupel twice in the past week and it sure is strange looking! It looks like very tiny styrofoam pellets - I was very confused when I saw it! Thanks for the explanation!
ReplyDeleteHappy to see you received some white stuff. Yumm, I like snow cones on a hot summer day.
ReplyDeleteOh the FF look great! :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE SHAVED ICE! FIREMAN AND I REALLY HAD A VERY HARD WORKOUT TODAY. WE HIKED OUR USUAL 2 PLUS MILE WOODS HIKE, BUT THE SNOW WAS DEEP. I SWEAR DEB, AT THE FINAL HILL TO THE PARKING LOT, I ABOUT LAID DOWN. I FIGURED MY HUSBAND COULD PULL ME UP THE HILL BY MY SNOWCOAT HOOD. IT WAS THAT DIFFICULT. SILLY ME, I THOUGHT WE'D SAIL RIGHT THROUGH THE WOODS BECAUSE OF THE SNOWSHOE AND CROSS-COUNTRY FOLK GETTING U P AN OUT EARLY. ...
ReplyDeleteNOT SO MUCH.........BUT, I'LL SLEEP GREAT TONIGHT
Maybe that's what we had on our recent walk instead of little hail? We were supposed to wake up to snow this morning, but it was rain...again.
ReplyDeleteWe had a tiny bit of snow overnight but it's all gone now. I had to Google graupel. I would have called it sleet but apparently, there is a difference.
ReplyDeleteAnd now, I have to go talk someone into going to buy me french fries.
