Done and Dusted
Literally dusted. I spent yesterday removing Christmas and cleaning up the aftermath. The tree is back in the holiday closet and the spinning wheels are all back where they belong but in need of some attention. The drive bands slipped off with all the moving. Adjustments need to be made.
I did all this very early in the morning while the house was quiet, meaning The Mister was still asleep. I took the time to organize the ornaments this year although this box doesn't look like it. It's my star and soft ornament box. Daughter gives me a star or a snowflake every year. I have a lot of them.
The glass ornaments are all wrapped in tissue and tucked away in these boxes.
Now I can get to this again. I hate this project btw. I can't wait to get it off the loom. I've ordered a new kit that should be here soon. It's for a dishtowel. It seems to be what I do best and I need something to bring the joy back to weaving.
The sewing room got a good cleaning after I cleared everything out. I can get back to the Color Wash blocks now also.
The heap of stuff that was on Dear Jane is gone so I can work on her again but not today. Today I've got a sweater to assemble. The Mister's Riddari sleeves are done so while he's busy with football I'm going to lock myself in the sewing room and have a good think. Putting those sleeves with the body always makes me a bit crazy. It doesn't make sense but somehow it works as long as I can get my brain in the right "zone".
I've been putting Christmas away bit by bit and cleaning as I go. I've got one little set of four houses left but it's my favorite, so it might stay for a while. Wishing you the best with the sweater assembly!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that a great accomplishment!!!! I hope the sweater building went well!
ReplyDeleteI always feel good when Christmas is packed away! It's always best to put it away organized too! Putting up Halloween was a nightmare this year because Dave put it all away the year before - it was all willy nilly and mixed up between tubs! I was so angry! When I took it all done this time, everything got packed away properly and labeled!
ReplyDeleteYou might not be enjoying your weaving, but it looks amazing to me!
Time and space to have a good think: priceless.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you don't like your weaving project. The colors are beautiful, though.
Future you will be so happy with the way you packed up Christmas. I think your weaving project looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou beat me, I’m still packing away…how can one person have so many doodads, greenery and Santas…but the tree and ornaments are done. You keep so busy! Good luck with the ‘sleeves’ today and enjoy your loom and projects, everything looks great! Cheers, Virginia
ReplyDeleteHow did the sweater sleeves go? I didn't get any Christmas out since we were gone, just the snowmen who hang out into January.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
