Woo Hoo!

I'm very happy to report that my finger has finally healed enough to let me pick up the needles again. The knitting needles, that is. I'm still wary of the teeny tiny ones. We had a grocery pick up yesterday and I grabbed my socks for the ride over and my finger protector. One of you lovely folks sent me a box of these way back when and I use them all the time when I am home but neglected to take one with me to kitty sit hence the pokey finger.

As for a bathroom update, we've finally gotten that last panel up on the shower surround. We had to build out the wall and put support studs behind the panel but it should be good to go now. Why a surround and not some fancy tile? Because after that leak we didn't want to take anymore chances. Tearing out one ceiling down below was enough. This thing will even have shower doors-a first for us. No more drippy shower curtains that leave puddles that might seep through. If there are anymore leaks, tearing this thing out will be a lot easier than tearing out tile. This I know from experience. I've chiseled out more tile in this house than I care to think about.

  1. Hooray for healing and a completed shower surround! You answered the "why not tile?" question with the experience of someone who has dealt with lots of leaks. If only plumbing lasted forever!

  4. Glad the needles are getting some work! The bandage looks like a specialized thimble.
