It's been raining non stop here for days and since I ran out of gingerbread to sew (finally!), I decided it was time to clear up the mess in the sewing room. That table was covered with boxes and scraps yesterday. Now I have a spot to sew on.
I went looking for a holiday project and I didn't have to look far. Daddio's last quilt, his wonky Christmas log cabin quilt was sitting in a corner waiting patiently.
I intend to spend my evenings sewing away while plowing through my vast Christmas DVD collection. I added The Man Who Came to Dinner this year.
I love Monty Woolley and not just because of his name. The guy was hilarious.
While I'm watching, I am going to put together a wonky border hoping to use up Daddio's giant stash of Christmas material. It's hard to believe this time last year we were drinking tea and sewing together. What a difference a year made. Sigh.

Hooray the gingerbread is done! What fun to pull out a Christmas quilt already filled with memories. Sending a hug.....
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I need to do with my studio. I love that you still have projects that you and Daddio worked on together. That quilt is so much more than just a quilt.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you ...hard year. Hope Santa is extra sweet to you. IM ready for ELF and Christmas vacaton that's for sure
ReplyDeleteI love that you are gonna finish the quilt at Christmastime. That can be your gift to each other. :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope you can think of good things while working on it.
Oh I love the idea of a Christmas Log Cabin quilt. I like those colors with the frosty blue and of course the red and green. :) I think my favorite black and white movies this time of year are the nick and Nora Charles Thin Man series, are you familiar?
ReplyDeleteI love the Thin Man movies. I just watched several on TCM. I want a dog like Asta.
