It was a two year struggle but Gray Blob number one and.....
....Gray Blob number two are done. As you are reading this, they should be on their way to their recipient. Hallelujah!
And....since it's Veteran's Day let me show you Dad's attempt at joining up. See the big red line through his draft card? It says Canceled Too Young. Dear Old Dad wanted to go in the service with his older brothers in 1946 and made up a birthday. He was only 17. I can only imagine how much better his life might have been if they took him. He managed to get himself in all kinds of trouble in the years that followed.
Congratulations on both finishes - they look fabulous!!!
ReplyDeleteYahoo and congratulations for completing the Gray Blobs! They look really wonderful and should keep the recipient warm (if it ever gets cold).
ReplyDeleteCOngratulations! They both look so great! I think they will be well loved.
ReplyDeleteThat was too bad for your Dad. I know my brother was really disappointed that he was medically declined.
Blessings,
Betsy
Huzzah! The Grey Blobs are done!!!
ReplyDeleteDave's grandfather did the same thing, but he got in! Thankfully, he came home in one piece after the war, and with a wife! Apparently the family was very happy about the first, but not the second! But it resulted in Dave being here, so I don't think I can side with them.
The sweaters are fantastic!!!! What an adventure.
ReplyDeleteWonderful job on the sweaters. They will be loved and used (I hope).
ReplyDeleteOh, I love a shawl collar...
