I spent a lovely Saturday morning with my ball of Scrubby Sparkle but first I had to wind small balls off the original ball because I could never find an end inside or out to cast on from.
Then I noticed that the label had a pattern for a striped dishcloth. I had some leftover pink.....
....but I didn't like the back.....
....so I knit this one longer and then sewed the ends together. This may just be the best scrubby ever.
Nice solution to the ugly back syndrome! Bravo!
ReplyDelete❤️ the sparkle - these will make doing dishes enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of knitting my own scrubbies andI've seen a variety of scrubbie yarns (can you call it yarn??) in gorgeous colors in the stores but it feels so awful, I can't bring myself to buy any. Is it as awful to knit with as it seems like it would be?
ReplyDeleteNot the Sparkle. It's fun to knit with. The other Scrubby-not so much.
DeleteI love sparkle too:)
ReplyDeleteCute and sparkly! I should go to Michaels and see if I can get some of that here. I know they don't have it at Lens.
ReplyDeleteThe Sparkle is definitely named correctly and is so pretty. Love when I improvise on something like you did to avoid the back side of the scrubby showing and it works out to make the item even better.
ReplyDeleteSo, Scrubby is good stuff? I've been wondering. I've been very tempted to pick up a skein. Now I definitely will.
ReplyDeleteI have a skein of yarn set aside for a Willow Cowl, but now I'm wondering if I need to find another project. I really hate floppy cowls. However, I am a tight knitter...
I love that 30s fabric, but I can't find it on the Connecting Threads web site. The prices are so good; is the quality good, too?
The Sparkle is good the rest is meh.
DeleteI found the material in the clearance section. I don't see it anymore. :(
I think if you follow the complete directions on the cowl you will get a better fit. I was running out of yarn so I skipped some sections that had to do with shaping. Most of the projects show a nice fit around the neck. I think it was my fault it went wonky.
That's brilliant! Where did you get the Sparkle....I must give it a try. Looks like it would make a wonderful scrubby dishcloth.
