The Quiet Before the Storm

I've got so much to do. I don't remember if I already mentioned it but we have THREE skating teams this year. We had so many kids and adults show up to join we had to come up with two more production numbers all needing costumes and scenery. I got tired of hauling big bags of felt from Joann's so I ordered what I thought I needed to finish up online. The order got split up. The first box arrived Friday but I couldn't get started until it's all here.

A huge box showed up yesterday and I was ready to get going but.......it only contained two of the four felt orders I needed even though the packing slip said it was all there. I don't think so. After a lot of wrangling with customer service the other felt is coming-in a week or so. Grrrrrr......

Oh, well. I had other things to keep me busy. I spent the day putting away all the Halloween doodads and dusting off turkeys.

I also finished my little mini quilt but.....

....when I hung it up I realized I had made a potholder instead of a mini quilt. It's a square instead of a rectangle like it should be.  Oh. Well. I'll know better next time and by next time I mean Christmas.

  2. I spent a long time on the phone yesterday trying to enjoy customer service! It's so much fun! The little quilt still looks great-good that you finished it and hung it up!

  3. Ha! I really like your potholder sized quilt - very pretty. And your turkey. Good luck with all the costumes. You amaze me constantly with all you have going on.

  4. Oh I love your Thanksgiving decorations! And I love the potholder, even if it is not what you thought it was ... it looks really nice on that hanger. (Where did you find that?)

  5. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...Joann's. That is why I hate ordering online.

Your quilt is very cute and it looks just fine hanging as a square not a rectangle.

  6. What a sweet little quilt. I really like it and who cares if it's a rectangle or a square if you like it? Customer Service can be the pits. I'm sure it's because of the people who take advantage but I'll bet around this time you're wishing you had just hauled the big bigs of felt from the store!!! Ha! My decorations are mainly just pumpkins and fall stuff so I don't have any decorating to do until the Christmas pretties are ready to come out. Have a wonderful day!
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  7. Oh my gosh....that had to be frustrating...so much for getting a head start on things,eh?! Perhaps it will come sooner though. They always say a week just to be safe. A lot of times it comes sooner.

  9. I hate it when things don't go as planned.

I like that little mini-quilt hanger. I'll have to keep an eye out for something like that for Mom. She'd love to have a little monthly project like that.

  10. I am wondering if you ever sleep or eat, where do you find the time to get it all done?
