The final team I have to build scenery for is our new small adult team.
I had a grandiose plan to make a bus, a hippie bus.
It has to have windows that are open. Hippie vans always had curtains. I know mine did.
That's a tall order but I think I'm going to nail it. It's not done. I have to take all those big pieces off, back them in black felt to give them an outline and then sew it all down by hand. I should mention it is 9 x 6 feet. That's a lot of sewing. I also need to do the wheels but I am STILL waiting for my Joann order for the black from 3 weeks ago. The felt for the roof of Snow White's castle is also in that order.
Grrrrr.....
See what my house looks like? This is why I am in such a rush to get all this done before the holidays.
The 60's seemed so far away when I started this project but now it seems we are right back in the mess we were in then. Civil unrest, senseless wars, racial tension. Where are all those flower children of my generation? Did all of the Woodstock generation sell out? We should be ruling the world.

You are doing a great job with the van-it looks like ours did, too!
ReplyDeleteThey sold out and taught their kids to sell out too. I think that bus is just what you need to be working on right now, I hope it brings you peace.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right. Most of my old high school hippie friends were the ones I had to unfollow on Facebook after the election. The racist BS coming out of their mouths was disgusting. Life must have really kicked them around for them to be so filled with hate. That't the kindest excuse for them I can come up with.
DeleteHey,
ReplyDeleteI haven't been on in a long while, had to find you and check in and just let you know I thought of you and your kind heart during this week. And here you are finding solace in your work stitch by stitch.
Just needed to say hello.
Hi Anne! I've been keeping up with you on Twitter. I've been a lurker with all your amazing projects there.
DeleteOh boy...I hope that JoAnn order comes soon! As for the state of this country, I don't trust myself to comment! ;<
